First-time ever Midi Accordion controlling Hammond Organ in March of 1992, played with bass lines on the buttons by JON HAMMOND Blues Band at JAZZKELLER Frankfurt. Jon Hammond managed to get sponsorship from Philip Morris to fly BARRY FINNERTY in from New York for the show which was the very first of Jon's annual "Jon Hammond's Musikmesse Warm Up Party" with all-star band. On the band with Jon also was DERRICK JAMES alto sax, ALAIN NAU drums from Forbach, UWE GEHRING aka WESLEY G guitar from Kaiserslautern. JOE BERGER Mixed this recording live under the piano with a guy blowing cigar smoke in his face (smoking was legal then). *special thanks: SENNHEISER Microphones, Hammond Suzuki, EUGEN HAHN Jazzkeller. Note: Guitarist HERB ELLIS was sitting next to bandstand in front during the entire first set. Jon Hammond plays Excelsior Accordions & Hammond Organs exclusively.

ROBBIE BACH: Good morning everybody. My name is Robbie Bach. I'm President of the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. On behalf of our partners, Verizon, Vodafone and Sharp, I want to thank everybody for coming this morning., Now, this is really one of the better parts of my job, and I'm not talking about being with 100 of my closest friends in a bar at 10:00 a.m., that's not what I'm talking about. But it is an opportunity for us to reveal what we've been working on in Redmond, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with Verizon; in Northern Japan with Sharp; and on in England with Vodafone. I guess the best way to tell the story is to really go to the customers.   very chunky groove, feels like an exploration, that is a mean guitar solo . lots of dynamic,I am fascinated with how fluent and full the group sounds . perfect balance of sharp arrangement and improvisation. that was heavy. I'm gonna play it again and plug in my guitar and jam to it

  This is a VERY GOOD jazz organ group. Good contemporary feel, solid, inspired playing from the sidemen and consistent groove from the drummer and organist who, of course, takes great solos.

  
  

  Website: www.jonhammondband.com Jon Hammond is one of the premier B3 PLAYERS in the world. Jon has played professionally since age 12. Beginning as a solo accordionist, he later played Hammond B3 organ in a number of important San Francisco bands. His all original group HADES opened shows for Tower of Power, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Michael Bloomfield. Eddie Money and Barry Finnerty became musical associates. Moving East he attended Berklee College of Music and played venues as diverse as Boston's "Combat Zone" in the striptease clubs during the '70's and the exclusive Wychmere Harbor Club in Cape Cod, where he was house organist and developed a lasting friendship with House Speaker Tip O'Niel. He also toured the Northeast and Canada with the successful show revue "Easy Living", and continued his appearances at nightclubs in Boston and New York. Subsequently Hammond lived and traveled in Europe, where he has an enthusiastic following.
