■ 11月1日（月）　晴れ この日は何故なのかトリプルブッキング。プライベートで日本に立ち寄られたジョン・ハモンドさん、日本ツアーを終えて帰国前の敦賀明子さん。そして、これもまた関西からの帰路に立ち寄られた田中光栄さん。何の脈絡もなく集まった3人にアフターファイブコンサートをお願いしてしまったのはスズキ楽器貿易の北米担当者だった。

ジョン・ハモンドさんはショービジネスの表舞台に出てくることは少ないが、フランクフルトメッセでは25年、ナムショーでもレギュラーのように演奏されているエンドーサーである。今回も鈴木会長に唯会いたいという一念で来日された律儀なお人柄です。

派手さこそないがベーシックな彼のオルガンプレイは聴く人に安心感を与えてくれます。セラピストの術中に入っていくかのように、仕事を終えた従業員たちの心を癒してくれました。

It opened its doors in 1961 at 147 Bleecker Street under the auspices of owner Fred Weintraub. The club changed its name to The Other End during the 1970s. However eventually after a few years the owners changed the club's name back to the more recognizable Bitter End. History An earlier club, "The Cock and Bull" operated on the same premises with the same format, in the late 1950s. The poet/comedian Hugh Romney (who later became known as Wavy Gravy) read there. During the early 1960s the club hosted Folk music "hootenanies" every Tuesday night, featuring many performers who have since become legendary.
