To mark the 500th performance of the HAIR Musical Revival Show, they generously gave away 500
tickets to the 500 'early birds' such as myself, photo: standing on line 8AM for 10AM open
box office:

While I was standing on the line the CBS MoneyWatch field reporter Megan Jordan came walking up

I told Megan about my audition for the first San Francisco cast of HAIR in 1968 when I had a lot
of hair. They told me, You look perfect...then they had me sing and it was over real fast!

The sound for the show was excellent, the band is all top Local 802 Musicians Union musicians. I
checked out the audio mixing console during intermission

After the highly energetic show the cast comes right in to the audience

Sadly they just announced that they will be closing the show on June 27th after a highly
successful run of over 500 performances

June 28 issue - Venice Beach native Danny Woody is living the California dream. He drms in a jazz band at night, then tours motorcycle shops by day. "But who would have imagined," he says, "that I'd be doing it in Shanghai!"

Woody, 59, is a fixture at the Portman Ritz-Carlton Hotel lounge, but his real claim to fame is a motorbike with sidecar on display in the lobby. The Chang Jiang is a Chinese knockoff of the classic 1930s BMW R-71. During World War II, the Germans gave the design to Russia, which passed it to China. Woody fell in love with it on a 1998 trip to Beijing. He bought one, and another. Soon, he had shops refurbishing them. Now he's a top vendor of the bikes, which have a global cult following. In 2003 he sold two dozen for about $10,000 each. Jon Hammond took Bay Area musicians Ronnie Smith Jr. drums, Alex Budman tenor sax and his Hammond organ there to Louisville to play what was originally supposed to be a live radio broadcast, 2 night-gig at The Jazz Factory, it turned in to One Night Only and John Bishop burned the house down..he was so mad at some of the local jazz hosers there at the University music program and at the club we were playing (we won't mention any names but one has a popular play along series). Ronnie Smith Jr. is one of the very best Shuffle & Funk drummers of the Bay Area, Alex Budman on tenor sax and Organist Leader & Radio TV Broadcaster Jon Hammond playing theme song "LATE RENT" a driving Shuffle. Late Rent is the theme song of The Jon Hammond Show TV Show and HammondCast radio show aka "Jon Hammond's Afternoon Slide" on CBS Radio KYOU and KYCY.
