Headquarters Frankfurt on the Bertram Strasse 8, one big Neumann tube mic and 150,000 big watts on 873 AM Middle Wave and Satellite microwave transmission - I recorded it 40 miles away on my Sharp boombox on a cassette - we took it back to NYC, Joe Berger remastered it, I put it on a disk and brought it back to my friends at AFN Frankfurt - they broadcast the broadcast, and it's on my first album! Straight up organ trio with the late great James Preston funky drums, Barry Finnerty guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the XB-2 Hammond organ - thanks Tino for the Roland Cube amp with 2 inputs, we're both plugged in to the Cube with an EV heavy-duty speaker - have a beautiful Labor Day Weekend everybody, make sure to mask-up in public, we're still in the pandemic. I'll be back with another Hammond Report tomorrow -

Hammond Report July 16 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Music and Stories from organist accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story in the old bread factory Brotfabrik Frankfurt in Frankfurt-Hausen, the first time Lee Oskar (harmonica, original member of the group WAR) sat in on my band with a killer blues shuffle driven by James Preston drums who came over (long-time drummer Sons of Champlin) and guitarist Barry Finnerty for my gigs, and earlier in the day we did a live broadcast on AFN Europe from Frankfurt Headquarters (seen at end of clip) a lot of our friends were in the house - special thanks Joe Berger did the sound at Brotfabrik and AFN - yours truly Jon Hammond at the XB-2 Hammond organ.
