Hammond Report April 17 2022 From Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from Jon Hammond, the organ player & accordionist - today's music story I'm playing with my band in the Indra Musikclub Hamburg where The Beatles played their first gigs in Hamburg in 1960 - this night we did a combination art exhibit with my friend Michael August aka ILLUSTRATORP and music gig Jon Hammond Band - my dearly missed friend / bandmate Lutz Buechner tenor saxophone, Heinz Lichius drums, Joe Berger guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the organ - Günter Zint was in the haus and the boss Orhan Sandikci, many of my Hamburg friends. It was a beautiful night on the Große Freiheit - Sankt Pauli, Hamburg, Germany.- keep the Spirit everybody!

On the band, Lutz Büchner tenor, Barry Finnerty guitar, Uwe Petersen drums and yours truly Jon Hammond at the XB-2 Hammond organ - stay safe folks, I hope to be back in Hamburg again next year! The stage is about the same as it was in 1960, my friend Orhan Sandikci is the owner - we did a multi-media night with the art of Michael August aka ILLUSTRATORP. Also my friend Günter Zint the renowned photographer came and covered us for a piece about Hamburg Sound. Musicians: Lutz Büchner tenor saxophone, greatly missed long-time member of NDR Bigband, Heinz Lichius drums, Joe Berger guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the organ.
